How to frame your tiny art

Let’s learn how to frame your tiny art in a very simple and easy way! This is just one way, and I’ve added other ideas at the bottom of this post.

What you’ll need:

  • Frame (I love to thrift mine)

  • Artwork

  • Scissors

  • Paper

  • Tape

Step one:

Take apart backing of frame and take out the glass (be careful not to cut yourself on edges). Trace glass shape on the paper and cut out paper. This is also a great time to wash glass if it’s dirty.

Make sure paper fits inside before moving onto next step.

Step two:

Add tape to back of painting and adhere to paper. I used artist tape since that’s what I had in my studio.

Step three:

Place artwork back in frame and attach backing!

All done! Wohoo! Make sure to hang/place your artwork away from direct sunlight so it won’t age the painting/paper.

There are other ways to frame your artwork too that I will be adding to this blog post later, but here are the ideas:

  • All glass floating frame

  • Getting a mat cut to exact size at your local frame shop

  • Adding more than one artwork to a bigger frame
